Bryan “The Presentation” Chenault started playing the guitar at thirteen and the love affair has lasted a lifetime. Like most guys, “It was a great way to pick up girls” Bryan’s father, Tom Chenault, recalls about his son’s early motivations. Little did anyone know that the guitar would spark something that would become one of the biggest passions of Chenault’s life. Not classically trained, Chenault decided to take a guitar method class at his high school which laid down the fundamentals for him to teach himself the rest of the way. Chenault’s friends and family immediately recognized Bryan’s love and passion with playing the guitar, choosing to play for hours each day.

Christmas 2003 brought Bryan a stunning, burgundy Sonata acoustic/electric guitar which acts as his primary song writing tool as well as his old, reliable strummer when playing for friends. The following year Chenault pursued his desire to become an electric guitar player and purchased “Lexi”, his custom, sunburst, guitar from South Austin Music in Austin, TX. Lexi served as Chenault's main axe for several years, both in the studio and in live shows.

In 2004, Chenault decided t take his music more seriously and joined the youth group at Dripping Springs United Methodist church, where he began to help lead worship through the youth band. It was through DSUMC that Chenault met future band- mate Jacob Wade, who would later become the lead singer and founder of The Encounter Project.

Upon graduation, Chenault joined the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. For the entire first year at A&M Chenault had little to no time to play his guitar, much less play in a band or lead worship back at home. However, in the summer of 2008, Chenault reunited with his band-mates and went to lead worship for a mission trip with his home church. This trip reignited the passion for playing and leading worship leading Chenault back towards performing live on a more regular basis.

By the summer of 2009 Chenault’s dear friend, Cullen Strange, had introduced Wade and Chenault to Robin Mordecai and The Encounter Project was established. Chenault was eager to bring his ideas to the table as the quartet began developing and writing their own original songs. It was here when Chenault introduced an original he had written years before to the band. From there, the simple melody was transformed into one of the bands most powerful and transcendent anthems, “The Road I’m On”, inspired by actual events in Chenault's life. Once in the studio, the band decided that it was time to invest in high-end equipment, including guitars. This was the day that “Veronica” joined the band. Purchased from a close friend, Chenault added a stunning 2004 Paul Reed Smith McCarty Black burst to his arsenal, providing the band with the polished and refined tones of a professional band. Since that day, “Veronica” has served as the main instrument for almost every performance or practice...until his most recent purchase of a Gretsch Electromatic hollow-body guitar, who’s history with Chenault and the band has yet to be written!
